Judy Taylor is an accomplished musician, entertainer
and award winning songwriter.

Hi my name is Judy Taylor, thank you for visiting my web site. I would love to tell you a little bit about my life and music and my mission for keeping the wild-west arts and music alive.

I grew up in southern California and have spent most of my life in the back country where you could own and ride a horse. I have a wonderful family with six sisters and two brothers. My folks grew up in Georgia and Texas and the music that they loved became the music I was most drawn to as well; Such as western, country, bluegrass, folk, and Cajun music. My passion for Spanish music led me to invest my time to learn how to play Flamenco guitar to accompany the Mexican songs that I so love to sing. Marty Robbins El Paso is my favorite song and started all this!

After training horses and herding cattle in my youth and hanging around cowboys at famous rodeo star Casey Tibbs ranch, I became interested in performing the kind of music that best suited my life style. I was fortunate enough to have the exposure of some great western performers that visited the ranch like the Sons of the Pioneers along with Slim Pickens and some that I can’t remember as they were classic screen tycoons and I was a young girl who just wanted to ride. However, I got hooked and I knew that entertaining was my destiny and that was all I ever wanted in life.

I had the honor to perform opening acts for some of my favorite artist including Doc Watson, Gary Morris, Bill Monroe, and I have been featured on local Television networks. Once a regular family concert act at the San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, and many stages across the country, I now specialize in theme oriented shows that feature myself as a wild west trick roping, gun spinning, bull whip cracking singing cowgirl.

 *The Wild Oats, an all girl group of incredibly talented ladies has been my right hand band for over 20 years. Their devotion has made me eternally grateful and has helped me create a unique and sound great too.

It has been a pleasure to have performed all around the country and parts of Europe, Mexico and Canada for the past 20 years, and I am looking forward to bringing my wild west- show and music to other parts of the world and creating new and entertaining venues for the next 20 years.

*THE WILD OATS’ play a variety of music from country, Cajun, Spanish, and classic rock. Judy’s music can be called Organic Americana. Her sound is also varied with an assortment of acoustic instruments and tight harmonies. Her original songs are fun stories of true events and up beat tempos. Her show is packed with great dance tunes and audience participation. The ladies can dance, play, sing and put on quite a show! In 1998, Judy won Country music California Song -Writer of the year award for her CD Cajun Soul. Now in the works is Judy’s latest CD soon to be released fall of 2008. This one will be of a southwest flavor with originals and classic western tunes.

Not just singing and roping, I also offer my service and experience as an event planner for western special events that include the music, BBQ wagons, Wild West performers, props and master of ceremonies.
